My tech and I are building a Jazz-style bass. I'm using 1960 stacked and improved controls, a Hipshot Kickass bridge and Klein '62 pups.

Which of these 2 necks do you prefer, and why?

I put blocks on everything, but I don’t dig the maple with this body. Could you find a rosewood neck with blocks? That would get my vote. Otherwise, I’m going with “anything but maple” aka “carrots.”
I take your point. Before the Tru-oil was applied, the contrast wasn't as apparent, BB&B is my favorite ascetic as well but sourcing a rosewood blocked neck at this late stage will be either expensive &/or problematic. It's a bolt-on though so nothing's irreversible.

Thank you to all who have responded so far. Many of your thoughts have mirrored my own.
Here's how it looked prior to application of the finish:

What's the profile, radius, width, fret wire and finish on them?

Each of those is more important than the visual.

Good point.
They're both standard Jazz width, 1.5" at the nut. As to the rest, I have no idea as to the radii. They both appear to have medium jumbo frets, the blocked is a Warmoth which has a gloss finish, the bubinga is currently unfinished. For me, the neck profile which I like best is that of my 1969, although the slimmer neck on my 64 is not uncomfortable at all. I've really never been conscious of any significant difference in radii on any of my Fender basses, although I do find the slab board on the Peavey T-40 I picked up recently to be a bit off-putting. (besides the damned thing weighing a ton)
