fake anodized! So there's no tiny sound difference that will drive you insane!
I haven't noticed any real difference in sound caused by the anodized gold pg. I've actually hoped for the opposite, with the extra grounding from metal. Btw, here's a shot of gold on 3T sunburst, for which I think it's well suited:

Black or white pearloid will work ok I guess. Just be careful with the Tort for science has now proved it is the reason for the 60 cycle hum.
:thumbsup: (I believe) Tortoiseshell was the very first pickguards that came with 3TS Precision and Jazz Basses (if I'm not mistaken), but for some reason A LOT of people really have a disdain or hatred for them; at the same time, a lot of people swear by them. For me personally, everyone of my Basses (that requires) a pickguard, is either Black or Tortoiseshell (real tort, unlike the one I posted in the original post):woot:.
