I like the Precision with a split pup and A neck (narrow at the nut like a Jazz) I have four 70's Precisions that I love. Here a few of them.

I also have a Squire VM Precision that I leave at work. A fine bass in it's own right. Crappy cel phone pic.
Standard Precision for me! 
Although I do like the tones available from the single coils, and I tip my hat to Leo's original design, but I don't like the potential for humming (one of the reasons I sold my Ric 4003).
And the Precision split pickup seem to have a bit more huevos, at least to my ears.
My standard Precision is my main squeeze: I love having ONE BASS that can do it all, and do it so easily. A bass that sounds so gooooood, looks gorgeous on stage, nails THAT TONE in the studio, won't fall apart when I'm playing a freezing winter gig or swelter summer festival gig, and that I don't have to hire a private security firm to guard when I'm not around.
