Which strings do you use/like/prefer on your P Bass?

Just got a new P Bass 5er last week, my first P Bass ever. Obviously it comes with Fender strings but I wasn't crazy about them. I then tried a set of Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats, and while they felt good I feel like they're lacking something on that bass. I've now as of this morning put on a set of Elixir 45-130s and they seem ok and have a little more zing that can be toned down with the tone knob.

What do you like/prefer on your P?

But the beauty of a p bass is that as long as the strings can resonate well, ANY string type will sound good.

I've used anything from La Bella Flats to GHS Super Steels and a whole variety in between on my P bass (4-string). It all depends on the specific musical context as to what sounds good on the P.

One thing I'm not sure about, though, is finding a low B that sounds decent on a P.

I still have the stock strings on my P. When they expire, I'll either replace them with the same, or with Rotosounds.

As you have the identical bass to mine, how is your string height? It seems that on my bass, the high G and low B saddles are floored so I cannot adjust the string height any lower. Low B can only be lowered to 8/64ths and G 6/64ths. Others are set to 4/64ths. Any thoughts. What have you got?

A low B on my Pbass has good definition with all the strings I've tried so far. But I do have a few tapered low B's should that become an issue.

On my custom fanned fret P-style bass, I recorded on Roto 66 in custom gauges, 45-60-80-105. I now have it strung with GHS Super Steels 45-98 for a little less edge in the tone and a little softer feel. I also got great growl out of Fender 9050CL's (now discontinued - you can still get the L set with a 100 E string). I gigged a set for two years, only replacing the E string when it got thumpy.
