Which switch

I'm looking to build this:
Invalid Link Removed
dual footswitch to toggle between the patches on my Avid 11R. I'm wanting to put two momentary switches in it, preferably with two lugs on each switch. I found this:

And it seems to fit the bill, is this a solid switch? I'm planning on building like I'm trying to destroy it.

To me i cant see how this switch works, for a digital signal you would need a Battery to send a signal to digitaly change.
Unless its sending a Signal down the Cable and around, but i notice the BOSS pedal has a battery.

Maybe this guy is a better role model for the circuit, shows it working and every thing. Dont use Ferreo box tho, but i love how he makes do with what he has.
Normally Open Switch, so when you press it, it send the signal down. well Watch the Video. They guy in the Video has DONE IT and is showing so best ROLE model you could have for building it.

Hi Angel,

I am somehow a "Boss switch expert" ...
The switching in the FS-6 works electronically. The battery is for the electronic and the LEDs.

BUT: You don't need any battery to switch Roland amps or BOSS effects.
It's the other way round! A "parallel to switch" soldered "normal LED" works without any battery on Roland amps and BOSS effetcs! I didn't mention this becasue I didn't want to confuse 5ST (and he has no Roland/BOSS effect - only the same momentary system) ...

All my Roland / BOSS switches are selfmade ...
I use them for my Roland amps (chanel switch / Rhythm guide) as well as for my BOSS SE-50 (2x momentary for chanel up/down, 1x latched for on/off). The SE-50 triple-switch was made by using a "cheap" HiWatt triple switch board, changing two latched switches. The built in LEDs are soldered parallel to switches - and there has never been a failure becasue of the LEDs ...

i Trust you Fully .. you do explains a lot better and know more than I, (im too much a computer background and digital)

I guessed that it was sending a short 5v signel or some thing to the unit, like Logic Gates use to turn.
You will have to send me a link so i can understand this better, <PICTURES and VIDEOs would SUIT me better than Words>

Hi Angel,

in a "Roland / BOSS" thread we could talk/write about the switches for Roland/BOSS equipment. I made a pdf for Roland amps users with tables which amp from 1972-2012 needs which switch, how Roland switches can be replaced by cheaper (self made) switches.

5ST uses a Avid 11R. I don't even know what this is ...
But he wrote about momentary switches to toggle between the patches.
What I can say is that the battery in the Roland FS-6 (which can be switched to momentary) has nothing to do with any impulse. The battery is only for the LEDs and the inner FS-6 circuit. The battery gives no impulse to the amp - so, a "passive" switch can be used (if the FS-6 works).

I have to admit that 95% of my knowledge depends on internet research, too!!!
And my "real electroic skills" are very low. But in this case, I tinkered momentary and latched switches (comparable to what an FS-6 does) for my Roland BOSS equipment.
