Whiskey! Whisky!

Bought this on the store owner's recommendation. One of the best whiskeys I've had. $25 a bottle.

In honor of National Bourbon Heritage Month, I picked up a bottle of Rowan's Creek hiding in among all the mass produced stuff at the local liquor box store. Rowan's Creek comes from the same folks who make Noah's Mill, which I really enjoy, so I half expected this bottle to be as good. It has not disappointed so far. They only had two bottles, so I am going to go back and buy the second one tomorrow.

Very, very good bourbon. It bites you up front a little bit, but the smooth caramel finish more than makes up for it. As usual, I have my bourbon neat.

Would anybody care to divulge any information about Whisk(e)y in China? Currently I can only find Baijiu and beer. The beer is good, but Baijiu is... interesting, to say the least. I'm honestly not picky, I dig Canadian Club and Jack Daniels about as much as Glenlivet, though I think my favourites are the Canadian Club chairman's select %100 rye (only sold in Canada unfortunately) and Bulleit bourbon.

Had a bottle of Macallan 18 for the toast before my wedding a few weeks back. Killer killer stuff. Unfortunately it's gone because one of my new uncles drank more than half the bottle himself because "he wasn't sure who's bottle it was sitting on the table in the groom's dressing room".

For bourbon, Basil Hayden, Ridgemont Reserve 1792, Eagle Rare and Bulleit rank at the top for me... but I drink plenty of rotgut as well. There are no bourbons I don't like - only bourbons I won't pay the asking price for.
I also love a good Jamesson on the rocks when I want something sweeter but don't go for the rum. (I've been on a big quality rum kick lately.)

Does no one else like clear whiskey? It's really good stuff. If you like it smooth it's worth trying.
Do you mean like a white dog? Can't say I've even had it, it's kind of a novelty in my previous area, so not too cheap. Where I am now, whiskey is an import and hard to find, even harder to find stuff that you can verify is real I'd imagine. Instead we've got baijiu, which is really good at making you miss whiskey.
