Whiskey! Whisky!

I've had (and really enjoyed) both Rowan's Creek and Noah's Mill bourbons recently, and I agree they're both fine examples. I've just started to drink my whiskeys neat, but I prefer to drink it with a couple of ice cubes. I'm currently enjoying some Michter's American whiskey. Pretty smooth stuff. I also picked up a bottle of Maker's Mark Cask Strength Bourbon a few weeks ago. I'll just say that I'm buying another bottle tomorrow!In honor of National Bourbon Heritage Month, I picked up a bottle of Rowan's Creek hiding in among all the mass produced stuff at the local liquor box store. Rowan's Creek comes from the same folks who make Noah's Mill, which I really enjoy, so I half expected this bottle to be as good. It has not disappointed so far. They only had two bottles, so I am going to go back and buy the second one tomorrow.
Very, very good bourbon. It bites you up front a little bit, but the smooth caramel finish more than makes up for it. As usual, I have my bourbon neat.

Hard to say. Evan Williams Single Barrel is a fine tasting whiskey, and it costs $27. Sazerac rye is a great-tasting rye, imo, and it costs around $28. I've also had several that cost over $50 that I wouldn't buy again at that price. For the most part, though, I've found that $35 is a reasonable starting point for good bourbon/whiskey.

Drinking “2BAR” tonight (its distilled in Seattle). Don’t really care for it but “High West” wasn’t available at the store so my wife picked up something new that might be interesting. We’ll get through it though.

I don’t drink on gigs, it’s counter productive. When I’m through, if I’m hanging out, if there’s another band, then it’s 7&7.
Generally a kraken rum drinker, but makers mark if whiskey.
If someone is buying me shots, I'll do a decent bourbon like Makers or Woodford Reserve. I don't do Scotch, but a Jameson is nice.

I pretty much like anything from Mr. Beam to Lagavulin. Nothing with fruity/weird flavors added, though.

Love a good scotch or bourbon. My favorite scotch is Laphroaig and favorite bourbon is probably Buffalo Trace. Neither are super high end but really good.
I can't find Buffalo Trace here anymore, so I now buy their lower tier brand, Benchmark. Works well in cocktails, but I haven't tried it straight.

For the price Benchmark ain't bad. All bourbon is good bourbon, some are just better than others.
