I have come to appreciate the white finish on my Ibanez. I used to consider it sort of second to my black, dark stain, and sunburst basses. It looks good and stands out on a festival stage without being ostentatious or showy. It’s going to show the stage lighting, so it becomes a part of the light show. And it fits in great at church!
I'm with ya! So many of us wear black or dark stage clothes that I just don't get the popularity of black basses, which disappear into dark clothes and black backdrops. I
sweet, i'm always happy to find a, post a pic of me rocking thread, lol here is my white mustang, i think up to 3 different threads now with this pic, don't hate me, lol
Ha yeah guilty. This is totally a “I found an excuse to post a pic of me rocking out” thread. That pickguard on the Mustang is flash. Great stage bass and my favorite Mustang I’ve seen on here.
While I wish my PG were black, but bass is still just a beautiful thing in my eyes. Honestly, I'm pretty nervous playing it on small stages. EDIT: spell check bit me!!
Irony. If you look in my sig pick, I've been rocking the same black P bass for a long time. It plays great and looks killer, but it absolutely disappears against the black clothing I always wear. As of today I've taken a different route. I got this in the mail today, straight from Japan. It's a 2007 CIJ PB-70. Plays like a champ and will show up under the lights and against my black backdrop wonderfully. I can't wait to get it out on a gig.
had a couple white basses ... my 79 Music Man back in 1981 ... then my Sadowsky that stayed home in 2014
Never mind your gear... the fact that you have Taken, Cast Away, Twister and Mrs. Doubtfire on dvd makes you a winner in my book... and the white PJ is pretty ok too.
I'd like to take a minute and thank the OP for not wearing that wife beater shirt to church. BTW, what model Ibby is that? Looks sexay.
It is a 1985 RB850. The ‘86 version changed pickups. This one is lightweight but the pickups sound as massive as they look.
