White basses on stage

Hi Standalone :)

I like white basses, but they can be sooooo fragile….

Am I the only one here who believes that
*) white basses sound lighter while dark bass sound darker (as we all hear with our eyes)?
*) therefore white should only be used for pop / fun stuff and dark basses should be used for metal / rock / heavy stuff?
*) Larry Graham is the only legitimate person on this planet who should be allowed to play white / gold?

Yes, you are. :)

I have come to appreciate the white finish on my Ibanez. I used to consider it sort of second to my black, dark stain, and sunburst basses.

It looks good and stands out on a festival stage without being ostentatious or showy.

It’s going to show the stage lighting, so it becomes a part of the light show.

And it fits in great at church!
Here’s one of me on stage with my Ibanez! It was virtually brand new at the time of this picture.

Good times, miss that bass a bunch.

Counterpoint: I don't like white basses (or white cars), but I have one!

I don't really care that much, but I'd still rather it was almost any other color. ('86 MIJ fretless Fender J, w/b/w pg)

But, you do you, man. You seem to be having fun with it. Rock on.
I really thought I felt the same way but after this bass’s tone and light weight and playability earned the call for this project, the finish really grew on me. I’ve otherwise been an ash and sunburst fan...
