White basses on stage

Hey, don’t feel bad...I have posted this one few times already too.

The sort of murky discolored chipped-up white finish of this Squier Affinity P called out to me from the pawnshop wall. I’d been thinking of getting a bass after years of playing guitar, I had a little money in my pocket, etc.

sweet, i'm always happy to find a, post a pic of me rocking thread, lol here is my white mustang, i think up to 3 different threads now with this pic, don't hate me, lolView attachment 3453374

I like my white with a hint of mint.

I like the look of white/mint too. If my pickguard cracks or something, I think I’ll go that route myself.

Just three? I'm way worse than you, haha. That's a great shot. I bet it sounds good, too.

I can't play here, though. I have tried to get a white bass, but nearly every bass that finds me is black, and the ones in other colors don't stay long. I keep dreaming of a white/gold/maple P-bass. Maybe I'll turn up here eventually. You better believe I'll post that one more than three times, haha again!

Each of my bass ukes and mini bass guitars are a different color, I especially like my Rondo Hadean 24" scale bass uke that I had Pat Wilkins paint Olympic White and Eric's Guitar make a tortoise pickguard. I made a headstock decal, Tortoilele and used flatwound steel strings.

I'm with ya!

So many of us wear black or dark stage clothes that I just don't get the popularity of black basses, which disappear into dark clothes and black backdrops.

I
Black basses are gorgeous. But yeah, they tend to disappear in most stage settings. Where they really look good is daytime, outdoor festivals. Or that occasional indoor show that is lit up.

I've always had a soft spot for white finishes. Currently the only white finish in my arsenal though is my Fender Telecaster 6string (no bass). Probably the main reason is that I'm so obsessed with tone and feel, that finish almost isn't even a factor. However, all other aspects equal, the greatest solid finish of all time is white.

White basses rock!

Here’s a pic and video of me playing Alejandra Villarreal’s (with “The Warning”) white Spector Euro 4 with her and her sisters in their basement in Monterrey, Mexico last weekend. Great young band and super cool people.

If you like great, well played and produced rock music, checkout their album “Queen of the Murder Scene.”

I have come to appreciate the white finish on my Ibanez. I used to consider it sort of second to my black, dark stain, and sunburst basses.

It looks good and stands out on a festival stage without being ostentatious or showy.

It’s going to show the stage lighting, so it becomes a part of the light show.

And it fits in great at church!
I had a pretty nice SR305F back in college. Sounded decent, too.

Counterpoint: I don't like white basses (or white cars), but I have one!

I don't really care that much, but I'd still rather it was almost any other color. ('86 MIJ fretless Fender J, w/b/w pg)

But, you do you, man. You seem to be having fun with it. Rock on.
