White P basses..what pickguard color?

I'm generally anti-tort but on a white bass a nice deep red tort looks best to me.

Black for either Rosewood or Maple fret. Just looks classy to my eyes.

Does it matter if its a RW board?

It does to me. I'd pair a RW board with something dark, black, tort, etc.

I'd pair a maple board with something lighter, parchment, mint, gold anodized, etc.

If I were you I'd go crazy. Go on ebay and find the most NUTS pickguard you can find. Even Fender is doing it now

I'm building an oly white p-bass now and it's getting tort.

Aged white = tort
New white = white or maybe mint.

If your bass is a maple fretboard, I would go with gold anodized. If it's a rosewood fretboard, I would go tort.

I haven't even thought of that. Looks like i know what I'm gonna have to find for my P5.
