White P basses..what pickguard color?

Does it matter if its a RW board?

I am thinking straight white pickguard.....maybe w/b/w....not sure about any other colors.

Maybe a very slight mint or cream?

I don't often write the word "tort", but in this case...Second choice would be black. White on white is for guitars...

This is from a Talkbass thread, not my instrument. My only white bass is olympic white gone yellow '78 Jazz and has it's original black guard.

Almost everything will look good, but my personal preference is anodized gold.

My vote goes for the plastic pepperoni, but anodized gold looks great on a white body with maple neck.

If your bass is a maple fretboard, I would go with gold anodized. If it's a rosewood fretboard, I would go tort.

Yup, I have two white basses, both with tort (I am so sick of this ridiculous joke around here), gold anodized is also a worthy choice...

Sorry about the junky cellphone pic.. I went with.. umm... A gold-style tort I guess you could call it? I ordered it from a company in the UK, and it's a pretty good fit, except that I had to enlarge the holes for the pots. Take it from me, it looks a lot better when it's not blurry.. ROFL

Just my opinion I guess, but tort looks butt ugly in by far most combination.

I honestly can't figure out why it is people insist using a tort pick guard even when it clearly throws off the whole balance of their bass's overall look and color scheme.

In my opinion there's something disgustingly sultry and cloying over tort pick guards, you know like the smell, look and feel of a small bar where the customers smoke too much and the owners clean up too little.

I guess some find that appealing in sort of a charming and cozy way though, might be the same type of people tort pick guards appeal to?

Well.....Fender came stock with tort guards.....gold anodized too......mint was a result of years of ageing.
I tend to like tort on certain colors like some blues....white is just blah on blue imo, not bad just nothing that stands out......i am weird i also like red tort on red bodies.

Tort will always be a classic on sunburst Fender basses imo.

Anodized Gold looks so incredibly good on a white P bass, and it looks even better after the white becomes more aged.
