White P basses..what pickguard color?

I voted for black with tort my second choice. Mint looks pale

My white/maple neck P wears tort and looks stunning, in my opinion. She came with anodised gold and I couldn't get it off fast enough - not for me at all.

B/W/B is pretty classy too, but only works IMO with maple.

• Tort if it is a rosewood neck.
• 3-ply black/white/black if it is a maple neck.
• 3-ply white with a rosewood neck, but only if you add a tug bar in the '60s position and optionally add the chrome covers (ala Brian Wilson), otherwise it looks cheap and generic.

I hope you ask for a specific shade of tort, because there is there's only 3 colors available for every serious bass player: tort, tortoise and a-la tort.

I voted tort, but there are lots of great options with a white bass.

Maple fretboard? Gold anodized, white, tort, black. But a black pearl or white pearl would look pretty good, too.

Rosewood fretboard? Tort, black

Just my opinion I guess, but tort looks butt ugly in by far most combination.

I honestly can't figure out why it is people insist using a tort pick guard even when it clearly throws off the whole balance of their bass's overall look and color scheme.

In my opinion there's something disgustingly sultry and cloying over tort pick guards, you know like the smell, look and feel of a small bar where the customers smoke too much and the owners clean up too little.

I guess some find that appealing in sort of a charming and cozy way though, might be the same type of people tort pick guards appeal to?

I just think it looks good. No special non-visual attributes that I can think of.

I'm really digging that combo. You mint looks a little more minty (darker) than others though, or it could just be the photo. What kind of pick guard is that? Is it an OEM Fender guard or from a. third party?

hmmm, yes, no....

Isn't it common knowledge among all informed bassplayers that mint pickguards on white basses on fotos suggest that it isn't white but faded Sonic Blue or Daphne blue, 'cause this is what a mint pickguard wants and demands.
