BTW, I am a terrible bassist. I do not play nearly as well as my bass looks. But I have fun.

Whats up people, My name is Brian Winger. I actually am a part of a company who makes very high end guitars, and we were commissioned to Build a Bass. It's design is from our 2010 Signature series guitars designs but featured ala this Bass. Let me know what you think of it....Its made with all the bells and whistles, and I think for our first Bass build its coming along very nicely. The fit and finish of this Bass eceeds PRS Private stock standards..The Bass cost about $1100 in materials to build, not to mention our shops hourly rate for luthier builds. What do you think? We need a little feedback. I will post some finished pictures soon, so you can get an idea of just how cool this Bass build came out.
The bass is a 34" scale with carbon fiber rods reinforced neck, two way adjustable truss, 6 grade 8 bolt neck system, SS Jumbo frets, brass gold plated bridge, Fender RI jazz Pups, A500Bourns volume, B250 Bourns tone, Tungsten inlaid headstock under quilted maple cap, AAA Birdseye 1/4 sawn neck and matching fretboard, oiled... natural, with a polyester finish, on a walnut body that was naturally harvested by a tornado in 1999, the top is 5/8" thick exhibition grade maple (flame/quilted), with a Paua Abalone(.050 thick) clover leaf inlay on the exhibition grade quilted maple pick guard. I am posting pictures of the finished Bass below in a new posting.
This the our Bass all finished......see posting above for description. I forgot to add it is heel adjusted truss as well. There is Paua Abalone offset dot inlays, and on the 12th fret there is a solid .050 thick .999 pure silver inlay thats been scroll engraved, with a Brazilian emerald in the center. There is also a Brazilian Emerald inlaid at the over hang at the bottom of the fretboard. The back is satin Polyester, while the top is high gloss polyester. The nut is made of Carbon fiber, and the side dot markers are made of black diamonds. The sound is outta this world, and it is a very solid bass. Feels very comfortable and very balanced. It's been sold to a good Friend of mine who resides in San Diego who paid a hefty sum of $$$$ for it and he says he plans on using it in the studio later this year. We built he guitar entirely from scratch in our custom shop from raw materials. This is the Bass version of our signature series guitars, which have a slightly different body design, but utilize the same quality materials. This Bass is wired to be virtually hum, and noise free, and was intended for live performance or studio duties. Came out flawless in every way, and the tone is well balanced, and the build was micro measured in every aspect to take advantage of perfect intonation, and harmonic balanced tone. The neck angle was set and machined using laser guides, and the frets plek'd for perfect level playing, no buzz, no hum, no electronic noises. Proud of this Bass, we may even do more of them in the future. All the jigs and tooling for this bass has been built and documented, and ready for production if need be. Let us know what you all think, since it is our first bass build, we sold this bass before we could get any feedback from the design, so any feedback is highly appreciated. We called this bass build the "Lucky Charm". Thanks for looking......BW
