Who else does this to their cabs?

My brother thinks im crazy that whenever i get another cab i strip the elblems and repaint the grills etc...IMO i just thinks it gives a cleaner aggressive look to it.I do this to all my cabs.its just that i like the look..plus i dont like to advertise much;). This use to be a Hartke vx410...does anyone does this as well?

I agree that many manufacturers get insane about the size of their logos. But I can't be bothered to remove them. I had a logo fall off of my Tube Works 410T and I never put it back on, but that's too much work to disguise or remove them.

You know that you're not only supposed to advertise what you're using, you're supposed to get offended and put down other bassists if they use something else.

OK, I'm kidding, but only slightly...bassists are generally the biggest busybodies about other people's gear. Guitarists are supposed to be the ones hiding their secrets...bass players are completely obnoxious about what they use and constantly need validation. It's kind of refreshing to see someone who likes to hide their secrets from other bassists ;)

glad you dig it!

here's the whole bass ... i spent about a month getting it to this point:

Now that I think about it, I've painted the grills of a couple of my cabs.

I do these modifications to make my instruments/gear mine. thousands of people probably play the same bass, but only mine looks like that :)

if i was to see that for the first time i would think its some kind of custom.....Great job!!! Good stuff!!!:)

Well I have an Ampeg cab and the logo is pretty small and unassuming, so I never thought about removing it. Probably because Ampeg doesn't need to advertise their product. Word of mouth is good enough for such a great product. I honestly don't care if people see what equipment I'm using though. If they ask, I'll tell them. I'm not hiding anything, nor flaunting it.
