Who else does this to their cabs?

The GK Backline logos are most annoying. I have a BL600 head and I carefully taped off the control panel leaving only the BL logo exposed - and dusted on some semi-gloss black paint - looks great now - no logo. I had a pair of Aguilar 112 cabs - there's another huge and annoying logo - took those right off. I have a pair of Avatar 210 cabs. not only is the logo cheap looking, they have the worst grills I've ever seen. You can cut up your fingers on the edge if you're not careful. I tossed those and had a local speaker mfr make me some custom metal grills with the folded edges - looks WAY better now. I also have a pair of SWR 210 cabs - took the logos off. I hate logos on cabs. That Hartke on the first post looks great - black horn, no logo - very clean.

hey thanks BWOODMAN!!!! i agree on those GL BL series...the newer ones look great but the older ones :scowl: IMO...but i heard they sound GREAT

I say forget resale value. I spent my hard earned cash on my head and cabinet. Not only that. I spend a lot of time researching what I wanted out of my rig. So they are mine. I will make them look like they are mine. Plus on the crappy occasion that some jerk thief steals my rig they too will get less money for the gear. So in the end I win. I guess.

I have a pair of compact JBL monitors and I covered the JBL logos with a couple of logos that I peeled off a pair of Behringer units. I've done the same thing to a Crown amp and some of my more expensive microphones and a few other miscellaneous pieces of gear.

I think it makes them less likely to be stolen.

I took the logo of my old peavey 810

...I have warmed up to that peavey logo in recent years though.

I wouldn't hesitate to paint over a Warwick 'W' - that W is too much.

I actually love the Aguilar logo. It's like a rip off of the old Fender amp logo.

I removed the logo's from my Behringer BX600 combo. It looks so much better now.

(Yeah I know, Behringer. But it's pretty good for it's price )

I basically yanked the "Avatar" logo off my cabs, especially because I use them vertically. It's really easy, they're just these little metal bars and then you pull the glue off too. The cab looks much better IMO and I really doubt the resale has dropped. I mean my two cabs clock in at $330 a piece there's not much lower to go if I ever do intend on selling them (I probably won't)

I called and avatar sent me a couple badges so that I could replace the stock ones in positions appropriate for vertical usage, but I've bought multiple cabs from them.

What paint did you use? Can you post a photo of what it looks like now?

i've got two carvin 2x10s, and i intend to make some stencils and spraypaint (in white) the word 'LIVE' , and the word 'NOW', on the other. wether stacked vertically or horizontally, it will be readable. and when i only use one cab, i'll bring either. Live will be a good statement, and now will be a good conversation starter.

I took the Fender logo off my first amp, took the Avatar logos off my 210 cabs, and took the Line 6 logo off my 110. I don't care what the logo is, if it's easily removable I'm taking it off.

I've had plenty of photographers yell at me about the LED's on the front of my Aguilars. Apparently, they're bright enough to ruin every shot!

If that's the case, I'd appreciate it if one of you would remove the logo from the grill of your Euphonic Audio VL208 or Bergantino HT115 so I can buy one of these cabs at a considerable discount!
