Who else opens up every pedal they own?

Whenever I pick up a new pedal I always find myself popping the back plate off and looking at all the innards immediately. Does anybody else do this?

Yes. I can honestly say that for most part I have had more fun tinkering with pedals than actually using them.

Always, usually to remove a battery because I don't use 'em and they add weight. Now that most of my newer pedals are non-battery oriented I look for notes from the builder.

I only open up second-hand pedals, I kinda like the warranty on the new ones.

Fer sure! I always open 'em up, gotta see what's inside. I always pop off the back plate of any bass I get too.

I will say yes too... most of them after a while get modded. Now I'm building them (not all), it's way cheaper and you can make whatever you want it to sound like, use better quality parts and make ones that doesn't even exist in the stores... it's cool thing.

Most of the time, yeah! It's fun and I like seeing the innards of new pedals. Also I usually take any battery out as mentioned. Make sure everything is secure in there.
One recent pedal I bought new I had to resolder some loose wires!

I like digging into mine. I rarely have the time to properly hack on mine but I do it sometimes. Problem is, I only have pedals I'm pretty fond of left and I don't want to chop them.

Always, never know what youll find, might be surprised with a trim pot or switch of some sort.
