Who Has a Bass No One Else on this Board Has?? (Part 2)

I'm guessing no one has one of these...
It's some weirdo 60s violin style thing I got a pawn shop. Had it for years. Probably needs new electronics and a bridge cover (the giant screws tend to poke you) but it's pretty neat!

It started as a Japanese Fender Jazz Bass Special fretless in Candy Apple Red in 1987. I got rid of the nasty nasal PUPs and the stock bridge. Replaced them with Duncan Quarter Pounder P/J PUPs and a Schaller roller bridge. Then I added a Hipshot Bass Xtender. All that was within weeks of buying it back in '87. Then the rosewood board wore out after several years so I had it replaced with a big chunk of ebony about 12years ago or so. But it still sounded nasal and thin. So I had my buddy make a mahogany body for it. And I put the Duncan Steve Bailey pre-amp in it. It weighs a ton, but I like how it sounds and it feels great.
The only thing left on her that came from the Fuji factory is the maple neck timber, three tuning machines, the neck plate, the truss rod, and the headstock.
Here it is with the rest of the Fenders.

On no you dont i know that shergold produced a few of these double necks.
I have a twin neck built by jim cairnes its a strat on the top and a jazz bass on the bottom, its the only one he ever built.

with all these "one of a kind" $$$$ basses out here, I feel embarrassed posting my newest addition to my work-basses. Truly pale in comparison to all those boutique basses, but I'll just bet noone else on this board has a 87 Charvel 3B in "FERRARI" RED like this one.

hmmm ... something's just a little 'off center' in that last image. what's the story, did the bridge come that way from the builder or is it the results of a mod job gone bad?

.I doubt anyone has a Westone Thunder Jet (sorry about the poor pictures). They were one of the last Westones to be produced before the Matsumoku factory closed down in 1987. If anyone does have one it would be nice to know as not many people do seem to own one and there is so little information about them on the Internet.

if you love it, why is it hanging in the store still?
actually colors mean nothing to me as much as playability, so if it is a good player..heck ya use it... I would rather be looking at those SPECTORS, but I'm also a sucker for pointy headstocks...(I have 2 Jackson/Charvel basses)...lol
