This is a one of kind handmade prototype 4 string bass/12 string guitar made custom for Mike Rutherford. He played it for 5 years and they never put them into production. I got the only one.

Pretty much all of my basses are one-of-a-kind frankensteined basses.

-Fenderbird 5 string with an audere preamp and 1 single coil and one humbucker pickup.
-fenderbird 5 string with Rickenbacker pickups and a 3 band preamp.
-Rickenbacker 4004L modified into a 5 string with an audere 4 band preamp.
-Rickenbacker 2030 modified into a 5 string with a 3 band preamp.
-p-bass with Rickenbacker pickups and a 3 band preamp

I've noticed that the nicer the wheels on my vehicles, the more they seem to draw the cats, um...attention to practice their aim.


How do you get the smell out of the wood?

lol, they only have limited access to any of my gear. i never let them down into the studio, and they're generally afraid of the instruments when i bring em out.

so in the true spirit of the OP, mine is not expensive, modified, 6-7-8 string or otherwise altered in any way, just a plain old 2005 Dillion DFBB TBIRD.

there are other Dillion users out here, ( lunarpollen for one ) but his is not a DFBB.

I still think I have the only fretless 6 string P bass and also pretty sure I have the only bass made with an Acrylized neck, board, top and back (only non treated wood is the ash core)
