Who has only one bass?

Only 1 for me too, 1975 J, don't need anything else.
Never a break down in the 36 years I've owned it
Only broke 2 string in all them years.
Course I know how to take care of my equipment!

I'm glad that you know how to take care of equipment unlike the rest of us Neanderthals. Personally I just throw my gear into the back of the truck and drive to the gig. I guess that's why I've had things go bad and take a backup bass... Or maybe if I had a 1975 J instead of my 2008 J, I wouldn't have to worry... :spit:

I can't believe that after 36 years of playing somebody never saw any trouble... UNLESS they played guitar! We all know that guitar players don't even carry spare strings or will play with the jack dangling out of the instrument. It's always the bass player that has to have a set of guitar strings or a couple of extra drum sticks. And with that in mind, I have to say that in "36" (+) years I've seen a great many things go bad. Cymbals falling and chomping guitar (bass) cords, Instruments kicked over and rendered inoperative, electronics soaked with rain. Numerous broken wires, dead batteries, shorted pots and jacks, and other disasters. Just about seen it all. (Don't dare say "seen it all" because then the "committee in the sky" will come up with a gem just to show me I haven't). Yep, I've seen some people who are naturally lucky. Fall in the septic tank and come up holding a cold coin. That's not me. But if it's you, the keep doing what you are doing since it works.

That's nice Mr bassbenj, I don't know if your trying to give me a hard time or what, but in the 44 years I've been playing, I've NEVER had any trouble with my bass's! And yes I've had to bail out a few guitar players myself. You wish to just toss you equipment around, don't come crying to me!!!!
Also, by the way, we're not talkin bout guitar pickers here I do believe this is about bass players!
Get with the program!!

i do have a custom bass that sits in a case. great woodworking, but not by any means a great bass. great guts, nice woods, lousy bass.

LOL... calm down boys!

Seriously though LJ, is this the bass you are talking about, the one listed in your profile?

"1975 Jbass w/ EMG's, Hipshot tuners, Bass ass III bridge, USA custom neck"

Doesn't seem like the same bass you started with :D I am all for upgrading / replacing stuff when need be.
