Who has only one bass?

My one bass has been more than plenty for all of the kick-ass arena shows I am rocking in my spare bedroom, my [DEL]tech[/DEL] cat should be able to sort out any issues between songs.
I only have one bass, and its a pain in the ass, as we play some songs in standard, some in 1/2 step down, and 3 in drop C.
I only have one now--a Squier Affinity P. This is out of necessity (layoff, etc).
I prefer a jazz bass, and until last week I also had a pretty nice SX Jazz (the ash body), but had to sell it to afford my wife's multiple sclerosis medicine.
But, one cheap bass is better than no bass!

I have a Lakland 44-02. I'm lazy. I only want to take one bass to aq gig, and I don't want to have to pick one before I go. I like to just know one bass. I don't need a lot of different tones. I find one good bas tone and go with it.

Hearing things like this really brings the important things into perspective and it's refreshing to see someone going through so much with such a positive attitude.
I've been forced to sell just about every single thing I own more than once in my life and my wife also has a pretty serious health condition as well, so my sympathies to you. Take care.
I also had to sell off some gear due to my financial situation, and I currently only have my used '94 MIM Precision. Ain't nothing special about it, but it feels more comfortable than any other bass I've owned or played, even other P's. I'll be keeping this one no matter what.
I had only 2 for the LONNNNGEST time (but for 2 different concurrent bands), an Ibanez SR506 downtuned for the metal band and a Carvin 5 for everything else, but GAS is a gamekiller around here, especially once I discovered the classifieds. Now have 2 more Ibanez's sittin around, an ATK750 and SR400. All 4 of my weapons have totally different feels and tones, and I can't bear to see any of them go (maybe the SR400, but its only a few weeks old and I'm loving it more and more every day.) Other than the ATK750 (which I had to pull the trigger on due to MF clearout, no choice right??) none of my basses are "new" to me, they all came with some of their own mojo and I've stacked on my own as well.
Nearly identical situation here. The only differences are I got my '94 MIM P-bass new, and I have played other basses that felt better but not many. I, too, will be keeping this one no matter what, but I'm looking to add a fiver. Not sure which one though!

I ONLY use a Squier Fretless. After I found how to properly set up the bass to get perfect action and great tone (mwah), I can't necessarily see myself having another. Not even a "real" Fender fretless. I think what I have now is all I really want. I thought about getting a fretted P or J just for the sake of having something more mainstream but my fretless does everything just fine!
Not that I have the means to actually GET a new bass.. But at least I'm not GAS'ing for anything.

I will have only 1 bass soon (hopefully) as I currently have the other 4 listed for sale.
I am trying to concentrate on building an excellent tone and have decided to do so with just one bass instead of constantly jumping around to different ones.

I'm headed the direction of one bass only... once I sell my upgraded 5-string OLP my Big Al 5 will be it.
