Who has the best bassline?

Dave...really? Wow. Its some freakin awesome playing. Its just...beautiful! And im like not into that type of music at all. I think i can hear to basses in there, so yeah, gotta be both then? Im not sure. But its some definite kickass playing. Thanks for the website and info!

Bassin, i wasnt sure because he quoted ME when saying "All the small things? oh man" or whatever he said, so i wasnt sure. He shouldve quoted the original guy!

no matter what anyone says Les Claypool is the greatest bass player to ever live. To me i think he is a legend in his own time, but not to get off subject, i think tommy the cat has one the greatest bass lines ever.

Ok, the most ICONIC bass line I can think of is....Under Preassure Queen and David Bowie...

And for really agile bass line, I'm all for Les Claypool's "My name is Mud" But then just about any Primus song is built from the baseline, the "lead guitar" plays second fiddle to the bass. But I really love that song.

And his use of a Bass, (not bass guitar) In Mr. Krinkle is amazing... Not to mention the simple fact that Primus does "Devil Went Down to Georgia" better than Charlie Daniels.

I know it's cliche to give a Jaco line but my favorite is one of Jaco's lesser known lines on "Barbary Coast" from Weather Report's Black Market album. It's a typical Jaco line, but very in the pocket and nice fills.
