I can't imagine why anyone would criticize DP basses. I've played 2 of them, and was EXTREMELY impressed by them, especially when considering the price point.

I can't imagine why anyone would criticize DP basses. I've played 2 of them, and was EXTREMELY impressed by them, especially when considering the price point.
That is so strange. I can't understand why you would do something like this....

Allan Woody reportedly had between 400 and 500 basses! I feel really normal and sane with a mere 40 something.
7, and I think I'm done. I may even get rid of a couple but I do play all of them regularily, so.........

OK...this is just WIERD....
welll...I am "supposed" to have 3....got my wife to "allow" 2 then 3....then it was "if you buy one, one has to go"....well....number 9 is on the way....and number 10 is close behind...
my excuse? they are ALL different...no two basses have the same pickups, necks (fretted vs fretless) etc....one is a "true acoustic" (Michael Kelly Dragonfly) and the incoming is a "sortta acoustic" (Rick Turner Ren 5 fretless)....
I know 10 is NO where near "the most" BUT it is "too many" according to my wife...
I also "technically" own an acoustic guitar and a Samick Corsair bass (cute little thang!) as well as a flute and a clarinet (well...they are "in the immediate family")

Well, obviously if you think a bass isn't like food, air, or water and part of your survival then you probably belong in the kazoo forum!
Of course we still have the "all you need is one bass" crowd. Ok, so I'd have to go find a 4 string P bass with flats and a tort pickguard. The problem is I'm not allowed to buy 4 string basses which has kept my herd in bounds. (20 basses) I have no idea what I'd have done if I could just start scarfing all those super cool vintage 4s out there. I've already had GAS attacks over JimmyM's Radio Shack bass and I'm not even allowed to buy one if I found it. I go to guitar shows and see instruments and keep thinking: Thank God they built these back before they had 5ers! Or in another case essentially offered the custom builder of basses that switch between fretted and fretless a blank check for a 6er. Thankfully he turned me down insisting on only building 4-bangers. Whew!

What is it about wives and bass guitars? Are they all reading from the same script? Unreal.
