Who has the largest bass collection here?

Both your claim and that of the poster to which you are responding are purely subjective.

In reality, a bass isn't a "need" at all.

However, I fully endorse anyone who wants one owning one, or 200 if they so desire.

Thanks philosoraptor.

He said "those are anyone would ever REALLY NEED to cover all the basses."

not "no one needs more than 3 basses."

EVEN IF you submit that no one needs a bass, you have to prove that no one needs a bass guitar for survival, or as a tool to receive money etc to buy food etc for survival. Big claim.

Seriously the most worthless comment I have ever read.
My claim is completely OBJECTIVE because contrary to the poster's statement that "anyone" would need only those basses, people on this forum would say they need more than 4 to cover all the basses, including myself.

Try to know what you're saying before you say it next time.

Thanks philosoraptor.

Okay, that cracked me up. "Philosoraptor." I am definitely gonna use that! :D

Wow. You all done? Just trying to say a bass isn't like food and air and water is all, with regards to survival needs. Sheesh. Lighten up, Francis. I clearly said I fully support people buying and owning whatever they want.

Here is how it stands so far:

To GregC: I believe you are referring to post #61 where Jumbobassman mentions that he had 100-140 "in the past. However, he continues "after thinning the herd about 15 last two years.", which I take to mean that he currently has only 15 of the originally number. Jumbobassman, please feel free to correct me if I have misinterpreted.

No. i am down to about 135-140 after selling about 15 in the last 2 years. This includes about 18-20 warmoth type fender clones

just some of my herd

Jumbobassman thanks for the clarification and the pics! What a beautiful and unusual group of basses. I assume the house in the background was built for the sole purpose of housing your colleciton ;)

The current standings:

Fusive at 183 (waiting on a pic)

Jumbobassman at 135-140

Allexcosta at an estimated 125 (waiting on an official estimate/count)

Pretty impressive guys! Anybody else want to step up?

I suspect they were taken out of their cases (or "normal" places) and placed all together for photo-op use.

Perhaps. I hope that's what it is. The impression I got from the pics is that AllexCosta buys a bass, plays it for fifteen minutes, then throws it on the pile with the others with dissatisfaction and contempt... Say it ain't so!
