Who has the largest bass collection here?

Years ago when I was touring and gigging for the '80s big buck, had 31. Most were cool Japanese and cheapies like a lot of Danos.

Then, warning to the kiddies here, got married and had a long marriage. Got divorced and had to sell most of them to help pay bills and re-furnish the house after the whole thing was over. Then, got down to one. Now, I'm at 10 and honestly, my wish list still has about three on it.

I'll take pics of the family this week and post 'em.

OK since this topic has turned into "How many bass guitars you've got" here's my pathetic contribution.

Counting the one that I am working on, it's 6 basses plus two guitars. Ah... and a ukulele :D

EDIT:

The ARIA IGB has a spare fretless neck so it's 6 and a half I guess.

Here is how it stands so far:

Fusive claims 183. It would be great to see a picture.

Allexcosta provided beautiful pictures but didn't give a total. By my very imprecise count, it looks to be at least 125.

Honorable mention to SMCD for an impressive 61. A pic would be appreciated.

Many thanks to all that have participated.

I'd like to let this go on a bit longer to see if anyone else would like to contribute. I'm also hoping the above posters will provide pics/counts so that we may properly honor them. Remember, this is all in fun and not meant to make anyone feel bad about how many basses they have or don't have. I only have two myself and that is two more than I can play properly at the present.

To GregC: I believe you are referring to post #61 where Jumbobassman mentions that he had 100-140 "in the past. However, he continues "after thinning the herd about 15 last two years.", which I take to mean that he currently has only 15 of the originally number. Jumbobassman, please feel free to correct me if I have misinterpreted.

I only have 7 but each have their applications. Example: I've tuned the Carvin to drop D and use it when needed. The Ric I use when I play Beatles. Etc. The acoustic Takamine isn't shown.
I'm still looking to buy a Hofner (I'm such a Fab Four fan), a fretless and an 8 string. That will make 10 and I hope to not get divorced in the process.

That could be. I took his post to mean he got rid of about 15 basses over the past two years and now has around 140. It's not completely clear, though.

SMCD you are right. You did post some pics and they were beautiful. My mistake. More are always appreciated though. ;) You have a great collection.

Jumbobassman looks like several of us are confused. Perhaps you could clarify.

Thanks to all who have posted pics. I never get tired of looking at beautiful basses.
