I picked up a bass for the first time In weeks, does that count?
My band scheduled a gig for July 10 (outdoors) , and is finally talking about scheduling a practice soon, so I thought it was about time to see if I can still play and if I remember any songs...

Safely socially-distanced outdoor rehearsal with the blues band. Was just the four of us and the host's wife, everything was wiped down with alcohol, I brought my own mic and an alcohol-soaked rag to wipe things with, and we all set up at least 12 feet away from each other, with me and the guitarist on one side of the yard and the drummer and singer on the other.
The only problem was that I was too far away from the drums to hear him well, but I locked in the best I could with the guitarist. There was an extension cab going to the drums, so he could hear me, but he wasn't mic'd.
It was a lot of fun, felt very safe, but a ton of work to do the set up for the host, and I felt bad for him, but he said he was happy to do it. Because I had my alcohol soaked rag, which I carry anywhere I go, I was able to wipe down anything I touched, including the bathroom faucets when I needed to go in there. I don't think you can be much more cautious than that.

I'd love nothing more than to be out playing, but my partner works in healthcare so on balance I'm going to let everyone else give Reality 2.0 a trial run first. I'll wait for the 2.1 patch I think.

Did an outdoor jam on my deck with my acoustic band. First one since early March. It was beautiful sunny day (with a nice breeze to carry viruses away). There was plenty of space to stay 10ft+ from each other. Good times.
All the bars around here (southern Ontario) are still locked down, so no gigs for a while yet. Even all the outdoor gigs we had booked over the summer are still cancelled.

Still pretty much closed down here in Cali. Covid contagion is still on the rise everywhere across this country. Very likely that a huge spike of illness and death will happen in a few weeks after everyone did their best to get out and spread it around this weekend.
I watched a little news this morning. Of course they showed the idiots in the pool over and over, but they also showed beaches in Maryland, North Carolina and California. Maryland and NC were packed in like sardines, not a mask to be seen. California was practicing social distancing and there were way more people wearing masks than not. In two weeks we'll see who was right, the medical experts or the idiots.

Wife and I jammed with her bro and uncle, keeping a distance and all that felt good to play with a group, albeit they are not the best players but the main thing is fun.
Haven't practiced with the band since the shelter in place. The BL is anxious to get started again but she was off in Idaho for the past week or so but I noticed on her FB page that she wasn't wearing mask or any of the people that she was visiting. So, I may talk her into delaying for 14 days.
So I'm reading a twitter and some woman is asked by her friend if she is going to be one of the first at the newly re-opened nail salon in some Southern state.
"No," she says, "that's for the pawns."
I love Vermont and intend to move there in the next few years. Glad to hear people are acting responsibly in your area.
I play in a church band and I have been playing all through this quarantine period. Don't get me wrong, the church is closed, there is no congregation in the building. But we are live streaming services every Sunday so the bare minimum of people needed to do that come in and we conduct the service more or less as usual. It is odd to play to an empty auditorium but you kinda get used to it. All the energy has to come from within you, there is none coming back from the empty seats! In fact they have started to modify the seating in anticipation of a gradual reopening so every other row of seats have been removed to help with social distancing when the congregation is allowed to start returning. In some ways it is like a dress rehearsal when you are actually running the service, so not totally foreign but still odd. We don't normally have dress rehearsals for Sunday services but we do have them for special programs at Christmas and Easter so it is familiar to most of us.
We actually had a social distance church picnic this last Sunday, with all the arrangements reviewed and blessed in advance by the proper authorities. People who are very concerned could just drive through the church grounds and wave at the pastors, staff, and their braver friends. Those of us who are braver got out of our cars at the end of the "parade route", grabbed lunch from a food truck they brought in, and chatted with friends for the first time in a couple of months while maintaining a proper social distance. People in our neighborhood do the same sort of thing once a week or so.
If this thing had to go on forever we would find ways to build a fairly normal life again while respecting the necessary restrictions. Humans are adaptable like that, it is the foundation of our species' success.

Nice vlog, Paul. I wish I could have been there as I would've put a big ole' tip in the jar. You guys are are exactly the type of group I miss seeing through all this. You and the other players sounded great! Hope it starts to safely come back around for you guys, the world needs ya!
Yep, we played the outdoor gig yesterday (first time out since early March). Our three piece was set up across the pool from the 'audience'. They had a great looking buffet set out too, but I decided to pass (I ate at home before I left) and I went and sat in the car during the breaks (mostly to get some air conditioning cause it was 100 degrees in the shade). Everybody seemed to have a great time - the band got a lot of compliments - but it definitely felt kinda weird throughout.
Oddly, it felt really good when I was loading up my gear (first time in months).

Rehearsal last night for a "driveway" concert on Wednesday. A few neighbors haul out their lawn chairs and we live stream it to the rest. Last time we did it, we bagged $200 in online tips!
