Getting together with the band this week, outdoors, with distancing. Haven’t played together since March 4. Can’t stand it anymore.

This is the first week that bars are reopened and I couldn't help myself. Played an hour at a beer joint jam with an excellent crew. Kept my social distancing from everyone.

It was great playing again.

We played an outdoor private party. I kept my distance best I could.
We have an indoor gig this coming weekend...it'll be interesting to see how we'll play to limited seating. Supposedly the band area to be blocked off from the audience by the required distance.

We played in our BL's front yard keeping our distance from each other. The audience was made up of his neighbors across the street. They were probably 70 or 80 feet away minimum. It was great to see my bandmates, and I hope we can start having practice sessions again soon. Since we play mostly senior centers, I don't know when we can get back to playing our regular dates again.

Bars still closed in NYC.

Some friends have been playing in the Checkers parking lot on 3rd Ave in Brooklyn with battery-op Pignoses. No money, but passersby seem to like it. Moses plays a Hofner, tone is awful thru the Pignose, but the overall mix is ok, for a parking lot. 4-piece rock and country-rock. Checkers hasn't chased them away yet.

Rehearsals with the band, working towards a video demo. Bars are starting to open in E TN. Interestingly we did some shopping in Sevierville yesterday and social distancing seemed to be taking it on the nose. A little disconcerting but not surprising.

Here's an article obtained by a doctor friend of mine that he feels has usable info. This bastard virus is spread mostly by breathing the exhaled air of infected people. Indoors is riskier than out because of shared air. Large groups yelling and singing along in an enclosed space is how one person can infect a bunch of people. And the longer you "share air" indoors with strangers the bigger the dose of virus you can get. The "dose" size determines how sick you get. I encourage all to read this in order to make wise decisions on engaging with crowds. Living to play another day is never wimpy, IMHO.

I don't plan on playing out 'till this thing's wayyyy down. I'm fine with that, too. Our state's being super cautious, so I don't anticipate any gigs any time, soon.

Nearest seated folks were 20 ft from stage . Most were more than 40.

Which is great - but if you are inside the air handling will spread the virus the singer sheds throughout the place. Which is a big part of why being outside is safer. If the doors and windows were open that will help; if the AC/heat was switched off that would best of all.

Small private party gig last Saturday. Southern Indiana. Everything is cancelled up through at least July 11. May be some more private parties in the mean time.
