i used to own a Galveston 12 string (same plant and neck as the Dean Rhapsody)
pretty cool, should never have sold it--- but i was outta work and needed to scrape together cash to get my Mesa Subway D800.

At least the Dean Rhapsody's strings appears to be a 4 set of 3 strings close with each other. I bet this'll sound great using a bass synth pedal like the Boss SY-300.

I have played one of these … they are nice basses … more of a pick bass rather than a tapping bass

Ugh. I feel hurt just by looking at the angle on his wrist on his fretting hand. Wouldn't playing such wide necks for extended periods of time cause carpal tunnel syndrome?

I had this dean 10 string for a while … it is a 5 with octaves … really nice bass … it could use a better preamp and pickups.

Heretic here...had a Dean Rhapsody 8, loved it, had little to no use for it and hated switching basses in shows while trying to deal with that and an upright. Bought a Micro Pog, then a Pitch Fork and Tender Octaver. I don't care if it's cheating, I don't care if it doesn't sound exactly alike...I sat down with those pedals and compared them directly to the Dean several times, and it's so close that I call it close enough for the one time a year someone requests "I Want You To Want Me"
