Who's trying to lose weight this year??

Just go on a diet of minimal fruits, cliff builder bars (protein), protein shakes, and low sodium soup (half the calories are in the salt!) . Then get a good workout. I recommend exercise bike; it's the easiest.

I did it for two months on my own and the convenience store guy who used to see me stumbling in stupid drunk noticed I looked slimmer. So there you go.

Salt has zero calories. It does make you retain water, but not gain or lose fat.

It's probably because part of the salt comes from other ingredients, not just added salt. So in order to cut salt they have to use a chicken stock without salt and so on which could explain the caloric difference. I think?

Hey all, just saw this thread.
I've been working on my weight this year- since the start of March I've been doing low carb, as well as taking saffron extract. Planning on beefing up my workout to lose more.

Not gonna say where I started... but I'm down 46 pounds so far.

Okay, I decided on President's Day to change my diet. Anyway, I haven't had a soda, fast food or nearly no desserts or unhealthy snacks since then. Without any other changes, I have lost somewhere around 35 pounds in 3 months. I will be off for the summer soon, so will have time to exercise. I plan on losing at least another 35 pounds during the 8 weeks I am off work.

14 weeks and around 45 pound lost so far. I did hit the wall and not lose weight for the first time since mid-February. I didn't gain either, so I guess that is good. Plan on losing another 20-30 pounds.
Started around 270... Down to 225 as of today 5-29-13

Unfortunately, since starting this thread, I'm up 6 from my starting point.

Life has gotten in the way. Mostly, my MBA on top of a hectic business schedule, my exercise has dropped to minimal amounts. Less than a year to go until I'm out of this.

To the rest of you, good luck. I'm just trying to get out with my MBA and then focus on health.

GOAL! I started on January 2nd of this year to lose 40 pounds. I got there last month, but the mirror didn't like it. So I went to 45. Still a hair left in the middle. So today I hit 50 pounds - 215 to 165 - in under 5 months. Now I just have to find the right number of calories to maintain.

Congratz munji! I have about the same goal as you. Started from 220 but that was over a year ago, not 5 months. Good job!
