Why are most short scale demos played with a pick??

No one is twisting your words. Your words are very clear, and unnecessarily demeaning. They also demonstrate your limited knowledge of technique and the use of EQ to produce a full range of sounds while using a pick.

Thats what you think. There are other that tend to agree with me... maby there are more, but prefer not to say.. I dont blame them

Well, not more unprofessional than the countless demos exclusively demonstrating how effects and other basses sound with finger picking and slapping, but not with pick.

I find that annoying.

just like basses, it's all about the tone, thus where we're headed, lol

I've been playing professionally for almost 25 years now. Last year i broke / cracked all 4 fingers on picking hand. Never played with pick till now, and i' love everything about it. Am able to use fingers now and still pick for most of the time... its all about the individual and what they like... anyway, plucking and picks all have a place at my table....

Ok. Sorry about the punk.
And I replyed b4 that the models I was looking for were all played with picks. I really found it hard to find a demo with fingers, and I have tried. Really.

You said what you said. Why your OPINION of people doing short scale demos with picks is unprofessional is absolutely beyond me. Why do you get to say how they are supposed to do their demos? Not to mention the fact that very few of those demos are actually done by professionals. If you want to dictate how demos are supposed to be done, do it yourself and then your opinion will matter, but probably only to you.

I just dont think my limited techniq has any thing to do with it.
I sang and played percussion, Im in music all my life... I have a very good ear, and when I listen to a bass I can tell if I cant hear the type of sound I would have wanted to get out of it, and I can tell that its not because the sound isnt there but because it was not played plain and simple, for a start,just play the strings, not fast, and let them be heard striped out of any effect or a tool. Maybe my English isnt good enough to explain. But really, it seems so basic to me, what I say.

You don’t have to like picks, but your concept of finger style being the only “full sound” is ridiculous and untrue. Just say you don’t like picks and leave it at that.
