Why are SS/BS Mini's Selling for $300+

I recently saw someone on here with a price for one for around $300 and then I popped over to the used market and saw some priced way higher. I guess Brian isn't currently making them? Did he say something about them being discontinued that I missed?

I recently pulled mine off my board and was considering selling it, but if it's discontinued I won't be doing that.

ss/bs hasn't made pedals for a couple years now if memory serves.

A victim of the Pandemic and supply chain issues if rumors are accurate.

There have been some rumblings that he may start building and selling again though.

It's a gamble... sell now for more $$$ and possibly never get one again, or wait and see if he starts releasing pedals again, which would drive used prices down.

Mini and F*ck have both been on my "Hit List" for a while, but been waiting to see how things play out, and if prices get more reasonable.

Ahhh that makes sense. Welp, I guess I'll hold onto it for now. I literally haven't used it for once since we started playing again and it's pretty near minty.

The prices for Minis are crazy. I wanted to get a version with top jacks, but at some point they climbed from 150 bucks for a used one up to 300+ and never came back.

Mini and F*ck have both been on my "Hit List" for a while, but been waiting to see how things play out, and if prices get more reasonable.

While Minis are out, I think at least F*cks are in stock?

Like so many other things, pedal prices (at least the ask) have popped . I roll my eyes when I See some people asking over 90% of the price of a new pedal for a used one, even when new ones are available widely, like the empress compressor, for example.
It’s obviously a little more understandable for stuff that is out of production.

Agreed. It's a pretty odd market at the moment.

As for the Mini, it really is a great pedal for bassists since it does so many different things well. I don't think that I would pay the current asking prices for one but I sure do get a lot of use out of mine.

Hopefully he starts building them again or the market settles down. I think right now there is too much hype and some people are looking for the next Klon-level payday. Lots of great pedals are priced out of reach for people who actually want to use them to make music. Instead, they are in the hands of the speculators who want to use them to make money.

The Mini never did it for me, I tried several times. I’m glad someone asked this. I have been wondering why SS/BS stuff was so pricey lately.

I haven't gotten a Mini yet, but did manage to snag a good deal on its big brother, a 2nd hand Heck/F*#k.

And for anyone looking, the F#*k "look" like they are in stock on the ss/bs homepage, but they won't actually let you check out. Been that way for a while now.

The Heck lived up to the hype for me on guitar, very cool and dynamic breakup texture, that really responds to your playing dynamics.

It kicked a bunch of other dirt pedals off that board that I liked a lot.

i love the SS/BS mini.
i had a couple of the originals (both the 125 (top jacks) and the 1590B (side jacks) versions. i guess that i should have waited to sell them but i did build my own clone of an all top jacks 1590B version with a relayed true bypass to compare to the originals before i sold them and mine sounds exactly like the two that i owned.

I love them, they’re desert island pedals for me. I can’t imagine selling them.

I love my Mini and regret not buying a second when they were accessible. It fits me the best out of all my drives.

Big fan of the Mini, one of the most versatile pedals I've ever played. Hasn't been on my board recently since I'm using preamps for my overdrive lately, but that's not definitely not a permanent deal.
