Why different sound

Why does a bass recorded via Focusrite into Reaper sound so different than bass played through a cabinet?

P with Chromes and tone all the way down...cabinet, dull thud. Reaper, way brighter.

Presumably because the cabinet does not have a flat frequency response.

When you listen to the recording you made in Reaper, you are probably using studio monitors or headphones or at least full range, HiFi speakers. Bass cabinets don't usually sound like HiFi speakers.
