Why Do People Play With SWRs

I use Ampeg SVT's with SWR Goliath cabs...It's a dynamic duo. I agree that Ampeg rules, I also agree that SWR sucks, though, It's not SWR's tone I have a problem with. SWR puts crap chrome on their cabs and heads. I know, I used to work in a place that did anodizing, powder coating and chrome plating. If that chrome was on a '57 chevy bumper it would rust within a year. Glad, I don't keep my cabs outside.

Turd...people get pissed when you knock their stuff! Let's try to make sure no one gets flame-broiled here.

Thanks to the senior members here for speaking up! This is why I come to this website 4 or 5 times a week. If this site was full of people saying "this or that sucks," I'd leave real quick. I mean, c'mon, we're all musicians. I hate bickering over the little things. What we should be doing is listening to the music of our peers with an objective and easy mind. Let's forget about gear comparisons at such a petty level, and let's just listen to music and provide objective and personal advice.

When I first read the turds thread my thoughts were , well this just seals it for me, cause lately I've noticed TB just ain't what it used to be. But not unlike MAYO in (an officer and a gentleman )" I got no place else to go". So nightly I wade through post flooded by players that probly share little if any of my taste in music but thats OK cause you never know what you might learn or where you might learn it. When his thread went unanswered for awhile there I was thinking this is great thats the way to deal with something like this don't dignify this with any response at all. Well that was wishful thinking I suppose and the end result was I've found some great respect for the opinions of many of the respondants especially those that have their profiles filled out. Ya never Know

Munjibunja, I dont think so man. I work for Mesa importers, so I'm sure I woulda heard something as contraversial as THAT! BTW, I have owned Ampeg in the past, and now own SWR. I sure hope I've made the right choice, but what would I know, I've only been playing at pro level for about 22 years.
