Why does TB “auto bump” sales threads?

I am constantly getting alerts and emails on “recent posts” on sale threads that havent been posted in for weeks!...To the point where i have unwatched EVERY sales thread.
Its still happening, clogging up our New Posts thread.
Just scroll down on one that has multiple posts...ooh look there was a response 18 minutes ago. Click on it and yea, nothing has been posted in a month. Not even a “bump” post by the seller.
I have brought this to Paul’s attention months and months ago, to the point i have taken screen shots ti prove it and let him check out my alerts in mail.
That is crap....because it looks like its happening on purpose.

What happened 25 minutes before that was goad clicked the bump button. The last time he typed anything was on Friday, but he clicked the button today.

Yes, it appears with the other buttons in the bottom right.

March 13th sales thread made.
March 21st was last post made....But its showing up as the person who made that post MONTHS ago, just posted that comment today. So what i did was comment on the bass....then refreshed the page and NO bump button for me to hit. So there was no way Goad hit the bump button. So it must be showing up as an option for the OP?

You’re over thinking this. Because you’ve subscribed to that thread and selected to receive alerts of every new reply, you’ll get an alert every time the seller clicks bump.

Yes, only the thread starter can bump a thread. Bumping can only be done using the bump function which is only visible to him/her. Posts do not bump a thread.

It could be useful to display the time stamp for the latest (most recent) bump of those threads.
