Why doesn't Ampeg have....?

I don't exactly go for "hi-fi" with my tone, so it works. Sealed 8x10's just seem to make it come more "alive" though.
That said, if Ampeg could come out with a modern ported 2x15 and could keep the weight and cost reasonable I'd be all over it. I know several builders are making them already, but $1,000 for a cab is hard to swallow if I can't test drive it first.
And then you made a little child labor dig. That's not at all outrageous, is it?
Well that remains to be seen. But the Berg isn't cheap, either. It's quite high as far as large cabs go.

I made a poke at a company that took a chunk of it's manufacturing overseas, but from your, "My Ampeg bib is stuck in my endorsement diaper" point of view, I can see where you would think it's a dig.

Thats what I was talking about earlier. I'd love to see a nice 215 make a comeback. I played them throughout the 70s and 80s and always liked the "thump" I got!!
Simple reason: Most manufacturers try to avoid having too much variety in their product lines for a number of business reasons: Increased inventory, more production equipment, diluted purchasing power, etc.
It's also tuned differently so it wouldn't dilute 810 and 410he sales. Nope. Can't use it as an exampleAre you familiar with Ampeg's current product lineup at all? They do have a 6x10 already, and it's priced the exact same as the 8x10.
You know, come to think of it, neither do I. You could block the 610 ports and try it.

I seem to recall that Ampeg was building a 412 (I believe it was a sealed cab) back around 1995-98 (or thereabouts) but gave up on it - I would assume because a lack of sales.

610 would be nice. maybe in my head but seems so much easier to move by myself from ythe garage to the SUV..
Loved my henry 8x8 for that reason as it was a 610 sized box or smaller but very ported .....i have a 2 15 cab i built that is a nice size to move but ported . between the 2 i never really use the 810 anymore. my back thanks me...the tube heads are heavy enough on there own

The really short version is that if they thought it would sell, or not take out a chunk of what they are known for, they would build it. I don't think there's enough market for it. What do we have here? Maybe a dozen guys who say "I would be the first in line". Doesn't seem like a market to me.
And again, why does it have to have an Ampeg badge on it? Ampeg would NOT be able to use the same drivers because of the impedance math. They would have to sub out a different driver. So it would not be the same specs as the 4-10 and 8-10 cabs. You could BUILD one, or HAVE someone build you one a lot more easily than AMPEG could change over an entire assembly line to accommodate the whims of a couple dozen guys.

You want what you want when you want it for the price you want it and you want GC to have it right beside your house so you can go in there and kick the tires on it for six months before you pull the trigger and you want the guy at GC to know every single spec there is to know about it while he is getting paid $8 an hour and then give you a discount on the one that's in there because SOMEBODY has been PLAYING on it for six months. Not too much to ask, right?

While I thought that was way too strong for folks just making a product request, I agree with the rest of it. Especially the part about GC employees. Just read an article about working conditions there, and honestly, working fast food pays better and has more room for advancement. Even the highest paid employees there make subsistence pay. Not that I did much goofing on GC employees to begin with, but I'll never say another bad word about a GC employee again.
