Why doesn't Ampeg have....?

Ampeg did a pretty good job with the new-ish SVT210 cabs. It's a different driver (and neo), and it does a pretty good job with the sealed 810 thing.
Yeah, I know the feeling.....I played 15s all through the 70s and the 80s...funny, I never knew that they weren't as "efficient" as 10s. back then I thought only wimps used 10s......
I miss the SVT-210HE. I have near mint one that I bought used and have since been looking for a second one without success. (They seem very rare in Sweden.)
It would be great to have a non-OSB 210 with the newer, brighter drivers.
And a 2X15 could have been an interesting box as well.
Ampeg of today has very little of the innovative spirit of the 80s and 90s, with the multi way boxes, ISO-barics etc.

First off, they have always been innovating. Don't even know where that comes from. Second, Ampeg fans, much like Fender bass fans, really don't care if they're "innovative." We just want them to sound like Ampegs.
That's the best argument against it from a tech standpoint that I've heard. From a production standpoint, I think it could be a worthwhile SKU if they could mimic the tone. Like another guy said, an 8x10 is just too big for me in any realistic sense, but I'd love to have something bigger than the 4x10 because it'll be closer to my ear and also easier to move around and load by myself. I think it fills a potentially profitable niche. Until then, looks like I may get a Berg if I do decide for a 6x10.
Yes, because quite simply, the Berg sounds great.
Ampeg could never make a cab that great at the same price point without the possibility of the fingernail of a small Vietnamese boy falling out of the box it was delivered in.

I do think that a 4ohm - 410HE would be nice, and make so much sense for SVT users.

I'm not thinking Ampeg will do this, but a 4 ohm 410 HE would be Good idea. Be nice to be able to crank an SVT into it.
What exact point are you trying to make here? The Berg 610 is 3 sealed pairs of 10s. Are you saying a sealed 610 from Ampeg would sound different or better somehow?
For one thing, you can't run a single Ampeg sealed 410 with an SVT. They only offer it in 8 ohms.
Instead of making a new cab, I think Ampeg should just update the SVT to add an 8 ohm tap.
Is the NV610 3 sealed pairs of 2 10"s?? I thought it was a regular sealed cab, I.e. no separate divisions
That's just trying too hard to be outrageous on the internet. Fail.
Anyway, you obviously haven't heard the Heritage 810e.
I think he simply meant that, at the end of the day, it's not an Ampeg. I can agree with this. Ampeg cabs just look classic and rock to me. The Berg cabs, while very nice, just don't have that look, and for some people the look is just as important.

As far as I can see, all their current speaker models are multiple 10s boxes or single 15s. With or without horn. Sealed or ported in some cases.
Thats it.
No horns, bandpass, isobaric, isovent, 2.5 way, multi-way, dedicated mids, dome/cone tweeter, active crossover, 8" speakers, 12" speakers or 18" speakers etc.
They sure used to offer many more "outside the box" products some years ago. Now it is very narrow, predictable and traditional.
(Which clearly is enough to survive in this branch of the MI business.)
It would like JBL to stop all R&D and only re-launch mid 70s 4560 style boxes with lead-sled amps.

Why anyone would want a cab that "beams" is beyond me but if you want a cab that has a classic look that is around the same height as a 6x10, maybe you could get LDS to make you something out of some vertically stacked 12's
Well, everyone does not (although many do) want thick, mid heavy, colored tone in a very uneven distribution on the stage. (Read SVT-810E.)
Those who prefer other tonal qualities nowadays have to look elsewhere as Ampeg has discontinued products that did do other things than the 410/610/810 or 115 deliver.
