Why I NEVER Vent On Here About Band Problems

...saw The Who back in the 1970s on the "Quadrophenia" tour at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. A while into the show, Keith Moon collapsed, completely blacked out on his drum riser, due to a bad combination of drink and drugs (reportedly.) This happened twice. After the second time, Pete Townshend asked if there was anyone in the audience who could take over the drums for a bit. Some kid (Luke Halprin, I think was his name) made his way to the stage, sat down at Keith's kit and actually sounded pretty damn good. Keith recovered, and finished the show.

Did The Who fire Keith?
Didn't Luke Halprin play the older brother in the TV show Flipper?

Reactions: JimmyM
I prefer to let the stories leak out over time :D And BTW, I'm not retired...just done with playing music for a living.
Jimmy, I didn't know. That's like... I dunno... the Pope of Talkbass (if such a person can be said to exist ;)) retired (at least from his day-to-day duties, shepherding wayward souls).

I wish you luck, health, and happiness moving forward and hope that, "for a living" or not, you have some fun making music, too. (Same for all of us -- myself most definitely included!)
