Why is "Chickenbacker" considered a racist term?

"Everything in the world"? Isn't that just as much of an overreaction as the responses of the offended?
Those who show disdain for the offended often seem pretty offended themselves.
I hate the term racist. I think it should be expunged from our consciousness because it promotes the idea there is more than one human race. It's part of the problem.
Hypersensitivity draws as much attention to our differences and causes division just like overt prejudice does.
Both are extremes, and extremes are very toxic and polarizing.
I like watching reruns of All In the Family and Sanford and Son and the Jeffersons because at least 40 years ago we could laugh at ourselves and the stupidity of what we were trying to get past.
Have we moved forward or backwards ? Who knows.
