Why is "Chickenbacker" considered a racist term?

Why is "Chickenbacker" considered a racist term?
It is?
...oh well.

I think that most everything someone says will be considered racist by someone else somewhere.
Calling stuff racist seems in fashion these days...and being offended by random anythings.

I am of Chinese descent and in no way do i find "Chickenbacker" to be offensive. However, adding an "n" between the "i" and the "c" could lead someone to construe it as racist.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Maybe chickenbacker is being confused with the more offensive version that you referenced. I don't know? The word you referenced is certainly considered offensive by everyone I know.

I thought about this overnight and came up with some Chickenbacker realities. If you are a blues player, and you eat more chicken than a man ever seen, it's a good thing. Rickenbacker guitars are inedible, at least so far as any of my cooking experiments have determined. A Chickenbacker is an edible guitar that also has other connotations, but only if you are a blues player. So, therefore, if you think eating chicken as a blues player betrays some deep seated prejudicial thoughts, then we may be onto something.

I have a friend's dad who's a really nice old coot, but also from the old school and doesn't realise it's wrong to have and use an ethnophaulism for every race, creed, religion and culture. I'll ask him what "Chicken" means, though I'm betting it only refers to a lily-livered namby-pamby candyassed pansy or something, and those can be found all over the world.

Some guy from Canada on here just about read me the riot act and called me a full blown racist because I had disdain for mainland China and their continuous lack of scruples when it comes to their business ethics.. copy stuff, etc..

Some people just like to be offended... they need to grow a couple of more layers of skin imho.

I feel this is relevant to the conversation....some folks will be offended by anything or try to find some type of offensive meaning to near anything. As for calling anyone a chicken, chickens are delicious and are pretty boss at crowing if they are a rooster.

Those who don't agree with me are just a spoonfaced apple-picking door donkey.

Anyone else notice how the Mexican guy didn't care.....??? he was like, "I don't care what you call me, If I left America your economy would spin into hyper inflation and dip into the 3rd world as all forms of construction would just about cease"
