Why is everyone selling their LDS cabs?

Yep, nail on the proverbial head. The key is to know what you want (& have a pretty good idea it's a proven design) from the get go.
Now, you're just doing that on purpose, aren't you?
It is what it is....... A fearful design, with a few minor logical modifications and aesthetic improvements, made prior to the time when there were any authorized builders available. We can call it a nearful if it calms the natives.
Quite possibly, but then by Summer's end, there will be a bunch of them for sale as well. It's the nature of the beast. (G.A.S.)
There's little rhyme or reason to what's FS, unless a new model has come out (see Berg cabs these days with the new CN line getting a lot of TB ink).
I love my LDS 15/6, which has been my main cab for a few years, but I did flip it once to try something else, only to reacquire a used one a few months after my seller's remorse. I'm a big fan of LDS.

Pretty much my point. A new piece of gear arrives on the market, and it becomes the "I have to have it" piece. The only problem is, sometimes the current "I had to have it" piece, is really what you were looking for in the first place. You sell the current piece to fund the new, it arrives, and you curse the day you let the original go. The up side is, misery loves company!

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some ABs are making some *very* nice cabs.

That looked like a sweet cab. If I didn't already have a fEarful 1212/6/1, I would have been all over it. I like Ralph's crossovers, and Don's work is second to none.
The Bag Ends have a decades old fan base. Bassists who don't own them know what a workhorse reliable pro line they are. Used ones don't sit for long in shops. I don't own any. Never have. They appear to be more of a pro's choice than flavor of the month club.

Don't get me wrong.....I have nothing against bag ends. I owned a BE stack and gigged it extensively. I bought them NOS from a dealer that couldn't sell them at a substantial discount. When I sold them......I virtually had to give them away. Lets not be disingenuous here; there are almost no retailers and their marketing is virtually nonexistent. So, when I say "nobody is racing out to get BE" it's more of a commentary on their lack of inventory and demand than the capabilities of the cab.
Replace EV B Series and it would read the same. The two B-210 cabinets I had were superb but there was virtually no marketing of them when they were made and available new. Stanley Clarke had a few B-410 cabs and I have tried the B-115, all great cabinets.
I've been wondering the same thing about Streamliner heads. Seems to be at least 2 or 3 of them on TB Classifieds all the time these days.

People think they know what they want.
The same reason you see custom everything else for sale too. People's taste can change. So, learn from other people's mistakes. Make sure you really love something BEFORE you shell out money on a custom.
That in mind, be confident of Don's capabilities. His work is impeccable (even if it is a crazy design by a crazy customer). You can't fault the work of the builder.
If I had the wallet for it, I would have Don build me two Sunn215B replicas.
Although I have never played one, from what I've read, it seems to be a love it or hate it type of head, with a really baked in kind of tone, with a more complicated gain structure and EQ section.

I'm not implying that's what you're saying rpsands, just making sure folks understand the nature of Don's shop here....
If you call up and commission something stupid, he will generally let you have what you ask for....so, make sure you know what you want, if you're doing something "odd."
And:
Not everyone is selling their LDS stuff.
I'm not; I have 5, currently.
I know Mark doesn't want to sell his 2x8 three ways, if those are what you're speaking of, but, he's having some financial troubles, and, those cabs in particular are very underpriced for what they are.
