Why no Hemp?

Yeah, plus americans were required to grow hemp in colonial times and the "early republic" period. Washington and Jefferson knew its capabilities and they couldn't be dependent on goods from Britain...esp. since the brits owned just about everything that came from everywhere...

THC is produced by female flowers of cannabis. The longer they go unfertilized, the more potent they get.

The only reason "hemp" won't get you high is that it's a hermaphroditic, self-fertilizing strain that never has the opportunity to develop female flowers to any great degree.

Interestingly enough, the CBD actually acts as a blocker of THC. The 'illegal' type has low CBD levels and high THC levels while the industrial hemp plant has low THC and high CBD counts. But you're right about the cough...

I understand what you're saying. I didn't buy an electric car, I haven't owned an apple product since the IIe, and I'm not saying this will cure all of mankind's ills. The plant is in fact, a much better suited crop for mass growing. It could help our economy much more than all the corn grown. Farmers would make more money they deserve, 1,000's of jobs would open up for the work in the mills and processing of it, its better for the environment, its more economical than trees because they grow faster and with less pesticides and fungicides than anything else we're doing now. People said the same thing about the light bulb.

And just because something is a good idea and people support it, that makes it a cult? I may be a simpleton from the swamp of North Carolina but I'm not sure about that there statement.

Yeah, I gotcha. I drank too much coffee today. And I do understand. But this is in an entirely different category imo. Yes, there is this smug weirdness with the electric car/mac thing. But, make sure you're separting those who are advocates of Industrial Hemp between the '60's babies screaming that weed should be legal. They are different people. And among the ones trying to get the hemp legalized, are very many governors of primarily farm industry states, PhD holders, scientists, economists, and the farmers themselves.

Hemp is the gateway product. First you say "it's only hemp, it helps!" and then you start looking into buying a Mac, and before you know it you're driving an electric car. It's trouble, I tell ya.
