Peavey, I used to use a TNT for practice and gigs, durable, though heavy, they sound decent and have some power. First amp I ever bought new, still use it for practice, and now my kids band is enjoying it at times. If you see a behringer for sale (i know, folks hate them), and it still works, grab it if the price is good. Used alot of their stuff too, if its gonna die it usually does soon after purchase. If the seller has used it for a bit and it hasnt crapped out you'll have a decent amp for very little $. another good palce is Guitar centers used site, I cant tell you how many great deals they have, got a 600 dollar preamp from them for 250, if you ahve a local guitar center check their used stuff as well, great deals that wont break your bank. and if your jamming with a drummer, you want at least 100 to 150 watts (though i normally wouldnt recommend anything less than 300). Good Luck!
