Why, pedaltrain?

Bought a brand new Pedaltrain Nano, went to put on the Velcro it came with, and…

Why?

rationally, I shouldn’t be this upset. BUT WHY???

the flat portion is about 1 7/8” wide, loop fastener is 1 15/16”, maybe more. Tried putting it on anyway, yep it hangs off the side so I removed it.
I have a roll of similar fastener in the garage, but it’s a full 2”.

I love everything else about this board and carrying case, but isn’t pedaltrain like, the gold standard of this type of thing? I’m really surprised by the oversight.

I'd just let it hang over. That pedaltrain velcro is not that good anyway. The hook side on the pedals doesn’t stick to it that well. I always throw it in a box somewhere and use On-Stage hook and loop instead. It holds much better.

probably a good idea. My other board is on-stage and their Velcro was , and it’s the right width for the Nano. I’ll either cut my roll of generic stuff to size or order on-stage. Glad I’m not missing much.

I usually apply it to the bottom of my pedals first, then cut out the same dimensions for the board side, stick it to the pedal, rip the tape off and then place the pedal on the board and BOOM! Its neat, with no extra Velcro sticking out from under the pedal and none on the board that ain’t hidden by a pedal.

Don't sweat it.

Nobody will know.
Nobody will care.
Except you.

It's not worth being annoyed about.

I noticed this when I got my board, but now that it's covered with pedals it's never come up again.

It's better that than being a bit too skinny to cover the rails.

Sounds like a bad production batch, honestly. I've gotten a Nano+, Classic², and Classic¹ over the years, and they all had width-appropriate strips. And I would certainly imagine the faulty variable is the Vélcro since the boards kinda can't have bad machining and stay together.

This seems over the top, but you could certainly contact Pedaltrain and show them your problem. I imagine a chagrinned representative would gladly get a better set sent to you!
