Why, pedaltrain?

The case for their Nano similarly had little thought put into it.

It carries the board well enough - and only the board - but for no good reason only half of the case zippers open, very awkwardly, so good luck wedging the board in or pulling it back out with pedals attached. Actually getting just the bare board in or out is more hassle than it’s worth.

My Pedaltrain Pro came with a soft case that only fits the pedalboard, put any pedals on the back row and it absolutly will not zipper shut. I use the soft case for storing airbrush stencils now. It is a great sturdy board but...

That's very annoying. I've had two Pedal Train boards, neither of which had that problem. Can't tell you the models off the top of my head, but one of the fairly large angled ones, later replaced with a medium large angled one which I still have. In both instances I had pedals on the back (highest) rung and I didn't have trouble putting them in the supplied soft cases.

rationally, I shouldn’t be this upset. BUT WHY???

the flat portion is about 1 7/8” wide, loop fastener is 1 15/16”, maybe more. Tried putting it on anyway, yep it hangs off the side so I removed it.
I have a roll of similar fastener in the garage, but it’s a full 2”.

I love everything else about this board and carrying case, but isn’t pedaltrain like, the gold standard of this type of thing? I’m really surprised by the oversight.

I remember exactly the same situation. I shortened the velcro with scissors, but later it kept peeling on that shortened side.

You should be able to roll the ends over, your talking, what, 1/16" on each side?

You're right though, you shouldn't be this upset.

1/32" on each side... 7/8' is 14/16".

I've always just turned the bottom plate inside-out, fixes the issue every time for me!

Then you have to deal with those huge screw heads that act as standoff legs and the velcro is too far away to mate. Thank you, Boss.

It probably meets the tolerance specification on the drawing.

I’ve noticed the same thing on my Pedaltrain boards. I put the hard side of the Velcro on the board. It seems to fit and hold up better. Soft fuzzy Velcro goes in the pedals.

I did a poll and know I’m in the minority. But that setup works really well for me.

I noticed the very slight width difference as well but as long as the pedals stick on the board and does its job who really cares? This may be one of the slightest things that my ocd does not care about I guess.

You use the pedaltrain velcro? I thought it was cheap & awful. Most of my pedals barely stuck to it. Off to the hardware shop to get the good stuff .....

Everyone you work with is at least kinda dumb. Everyone you went to school with is at least kinda stoopit. Heck, even most relatives. Look to your right, look to your left. Why should that one small company be any different?

Today I have to fix/reinstall the double-hung window in a bathroom at home that some 0.20 IQ person put in before we bought the place. The quality of workmanship put into it seems so inexplicably haphazard that my only and best guess is that they were trying to do the thing within five minutes like someone was time-testing them with a stopwatch.

I bought a Pedaltrain Classic 1 a while ago and have had zero issues with the supplied Velcro strips. I went for the hard flight case over the soft bag so no experience with the bags, but the case is fantastic.

Whenever I receive a used pedal that has soft side velcro stuck to it I just throw the whole thing in the dumpster. Pedal ruined. Seller should specify 'SOFT velcro on pedal' in the ad.

Well, I cut my other roll of not-Velcro to fit, slid on a couple pedals, and it does fit in the bag. so that’s good.

Meanwhile pedal train support said I don’t know how to use a tape measure even though I sent them a photo of the hook and loop clearly being wider than the rail. I don’t want them to do anything for me, I just want them to fix it for others going forward.

I’ve expected way too much from them, you’re all correct.

I looked at your photos again, the measurements shown seem to be a perfect fit to me.

Seriously, if you're quibbling at what, 1/32" on each side (at most) you have other issues.

You're not building a watch there, you're assembling a pedalboard, that velcro in the pics is the same size as the rails, put on some glasses.

It's probably not an oversight. Pedalboard doesn't make the velcro, they just buy it from a manufacturer. Everything has a tolerance, even velcro.

Imagine if someone were to invent an implement with two sides, each sort of knife-like with sharp edges? And then some attachment or screw binding them together, and handles on each end that would allow the knives to swivel, separate and connect, where it would allow one to neatly cut edges and the like between said connecting edges?

They could call it something like, "intersecting dual-blade tool", or "acu-cutter" or, something crazy like "scissor".
