Why people hate HAZ Mutron III+? (clips)

I like the HAZ Mutron, but for the life of me, I can't hear a difference at all between the HAZ and a Q-Tron. They sound almost exact to me.

I had a chance to compare both and I found the Q-tron weak on the low end.
It seems that Haz Mutron retain the lows better.

If my original Mutron III (late 70s model) sounded as good as this HAZ, I would have never bought my EBS BassIQ. The old Mutron is sitting in its box awaiting for a trip to Lingenberg Sound for a calibration and update job.

May have to look into obtaining a HAZ....just wish it was in a smaller package. But it sounds great! Better than my orig Mutron ever did. I know what I'm talking about....as I am a filter junkie.

My HAZ just arrived.
I'm really digging it. Very responsive with my basses, and sounds great.
There's a lot of sounds there - it'll be a while before I'm done tweaking.

I know what I'm talking about as well, as I am also a filter junkie, yet I think the original is better.

Just goes to show folks, that you should try before you buy where possible, as everyone has differing opinions!

Thanks Zorza, yep that's the HAZ Mutron.
Bought it about ten years ago.
