I get that some folks try to apply it
to everything, which slap really isn't meant for everything..
Which proves you don't need slap to make tons of money.
Carol Kaye didn't slap either. She also made a ton of money at the time.

For many players slap has no bearing on the music they play so they have no interest in it. For others its just sour grapes becauae they are no good trying to play that style
"Seinfeld" wasn't even recorded on a bass.Because of a resurgence of popularity because of the younger generations who listen to RHCP,Les Claypool and have seen "Seinfeld"
Not because of us older bass players who have lived through the initial rise of it.
Now there's a media saturation.
It's almost impossible to play anything from the 70's & 80's without
