LOL +1 bazillion. I do foreign subtitled movies all the time, and when people say they can't read them and enjoiy the movie I just go

It took me a while to figure it out, but I think videogames have ruined subtitles for me.

Well, that isn't true. A subbed film in another language is fine, infact it probably gives me an advantage there, I watch quite a few foreign films and have no problem enjoying them. Stick subs on a film where they are speaking English however, and I can't help but read ahead and then sit there waiting for the actors to catch up. If I had a mouse in my hand I'd be clicking it to skip to the next line of dialogue.

Apparently they started remaking The Changeling (1980 horror), and shut down production when they realized it would never hold a candle to the original.

George C. Scott is a tough act to follow....and still one of the best haunted houses ever!

Bravo sir, not a lot of people know about this movie.


Personally I'll watch the crap out of it, but then again I dig any and all sci fi and horror films regardless of quality.

The Changeling is probably one of my fave spooky-movies. The slo-mo ball bounce down the stairs? Gets me chilled every time. So good.

Eh... they've been remaking Three Musketeers about twice a year since the first once came out in the early 1930s.

Like Robin Hood - you can expect to see it remade continuously throughout your life.

Awesome buddy....I have probably watched it over 50 times since getting it on DVD in a bargain bin....I was hoping for more special features and a commentary, but no dice, only actor outlines.....oh well.

I love the cinematography of Changeling...some of the shots are stunning, like when George and Trish first meet to look at the house.

Plus I think the music is excellent!

Still my fave old school horror ever, been a fan since day 1.

If anyone is interested...the entire movie is on youtube....perfect if you're in the mood for some old school thrills.

This is the sad state that Hollywood has become. Its rare I get excited about new movies these days.

However, I am looking forward to The Rum Diary, due out next month, that will see Johnny Depp portraying Hunter S Thompson (albeit a younger version than in F&LILV).

Remakes, eh? Hmmm. I suspect most film fans come out of watching a remake thinking "well, that was nowhere near as good as the original!". However, occasionally the remake destroys the original.

Case in point? Dawn Of The Dead. Yes, the original was a clever anti-consumerism satire dressed up as a horror film and was peerless at the time. But you can't honestly tell me that the remake - for sheer cack-your-pants scares - wasn't a better horror film?

I havent seen George Romero's original version of "The Crazies", but I watched the remake last week, which Romero produced, and it was pretty good.

It's more of a reinterpretation than a remake. But that's another good example of a remake surpassing the original I reckon. Nice one. Planet of the Apes has the opposite effect IMO.

Netflix has some good documentaries and Nova episodes. I recently watched an interesting one on the crash of Air France flight 447. Even though I'm a frequent-frequent flyer I find shows like this fascinating … maybe because I'm pleased that crashes like that one occur so infrequently.

Some do look fairly legit, but some are really mind boggling, like another Spiderman reboot? Another Superman reboot? And is another American Pie movie reeeeeaaaaallllllllllly necessary?

Holywood, I am very dissapoint, I mean with so much pure talent and originality showcased on sites like youtube, you could make years of great movies if you'd only give "originality" another chance. But no, you'd rather rape your own legends and classics to get people in theater seats, though I'm sure that they mostly show up out of morbid curiosity of seeing you destroy yourself.

Hollywood, I am very, very dissapoint.
