TMNT, Godzilla, and Robocop remakes. Hopefully all full of win.
Remakes, eh? Hmmm. I suspect most film fans come out of watching a remake thinking "well, that was nowhere near as good as the original!". However, occasionally the remake destroys the original.
Case in point? Dawn Of The Dead. Yes, the original was a clever anti-consumerism satire dressed up as a horror film and was peerless at the time. But you can't honestly tell me that the remake - for sheer cack-your-pants scares - wasn't a better horror film?
Kawai-chang said:The remake of DotD revolutionized the zombie genre in one simple but awesome way. If I'm not mistaken EVERY zombie movie up until that point had them as "shamblers", whereas DotD had them as "Hey! they're RUNNING!".
Added a galaxy's worth of tension and action. I loved the movie.
What ever happened to the remake of Red Dawn??
Don't have access to IMDB right now, but wasn't 28 Days Later before the DOTD remake? However, we could argue that the 28DL zombies weren't true zombies in the 'coming back from the dead' sense.
But yes, running zombies who put up a bit of a fight took the scares to a whole new level.
Isn't this "The Thing" a prequel? As long as it tells that story I'm ok with it. Won't get too excited, but I'll see it.
I agree with Relic, the one with Kurt Russell is a classic and this one will not even come close.
My favorite scene is the "ghost-writing" one.

Just go write some new stuff and give it a rest already! Are remakes all Hollywood can do?
They are writing new stuff and it will be awesome.
I can't wait to watch this, The Thing is one of my top 5 favorite movies ever.![]()
Seriously, you gon complain about hollywood doing remakes WHILE REFERENCING A MOVIE THAT IS A REMAKE ITSELF? LOL dude.
I know... this will be what, like the 3rd "The Thing"?
Teh original was good, but to me the Kurt Russell one was awesome - the definitive "The Thing". This one? Just going to be more CGI/special effects and same old same old..why even bother
