Why?

I'm broke and living in my friends garage and every time I get money I think about gear-it's a groove based sickness that defines the reality of living day to day -it is a lifestyle -a habit - it is a dogma and it is the way of life.
 
I believe it is an evolving process of discovery. If I see something I think I might like, I buy it. I work it. I put it into rotation with other gear I like. Sometimes the new gear is a pleasant addition. Sometimes not. But I always learn from the experience and am better for it. I have many basses. I will maybe sell some soon. But I surely will buy more in the future and not feel at all bad about it.

Capitalism thrives on desire and abhors contentment. Look at razors. Remember when there was only one blade? Then they came out with two, and truth be told, it was a smoother shave. When they introduced the three-blade razor, I started to feel like a mark. Now some have six blades and look like cheese graters but don't shave any closer, but you know ...
