SOOOO much for posting this! The number of people who think they should only pay for parts and manufacturing (and some think they should only have to pay for parts) is appalling to me. Ever hear of research and development? Ever hear of creativity? Yes, some pedals are straight clones, but I've had the pleasure of owning pedals that were straight
magic, and I've been more than happy to pay for the builder's time and attention to detail. If I still think a pedal is overpriced, then I simply don't buy it.
It reminds me of people who think they should get music for free. Apparently, they think music files emerge from random quantum fluctuations, without any creative or physical time and effort involved, not to mention the expense.
